Surprise Indeed!

First of all, please make note that my last post was about surprises and weddings. Well, I got the biggest and best surprise of all, the night before Thanksgiving! Lee & Regan announced to us that they are expecting a baby (their 1st) July 31st!!! My "Loves" just keep on multiplying and we are thrilled to have a baby Lawson in our family this coming summer. It was a total surprise and they told us in a very special way.
We sat down in a restaurant together, the 4 of us, and they handed me a wrapped gift in a bag and told me they wanted to give us an early holiday gift to enjoy before the holidays began. When I opened it, there was a picture frame with the Bible verse, Phil 1:9-11, in Regan's handwriting and after I read the 1st line, I knew it was special and began to cry. They said," we want yall to begin praying this verse now over our child we are expecting late July!"
What joy we had talking and dreaming about Baby Lawson over the Thanksgiving weekend and how wonderful to give thanks for a new little one to love!

Weddings and Surprises

Being together with family for weddings is always fun,and lots of efforts were made as well as lots of planning to create the atmosphere and coordinate schedules for a fun weekend for all. The Bride's family, The Aughtmans and McWhorters, did a nice job of making it possible for us, the groom's family (my nephew)(Littlepage/Williams side of our family) to enjoy ourselves at all the events.
The Rehearsal dinner was a nice colddddddddd evening but plenty of warm feelings were expressed for the sweet bride and groom, Scott and Catherine. The pre - wedding brunch was also a very relaxed time for the family to catch up with each other. Living in AU had its advantages for Jack and me too and we were able to have some of the family over in intervals through out the weekend. It was also great to have my Minnesota cousin Cathy and her daughter, Maggie, drive down from Marietta for the wedding!
This sentimental Lolli was especially surprised to see her daughter in law, Regan, son in law aka... SIL =Joey, and two granddaughters arrive for the wedding as they all wanted to surprise me with their attendance! Ohhhh I do love surprises, particularly those kind!

Lolli loves taking pictures

What can I say? I just plain love taking pictures of the grandchildren and sharing them. Everyone has their little obsessions and this is one of mine. It could be a lot worse!
aren't those the most adorable cheeks?

with colds and ear infections we still managed lots of smiles through the week!
Annie was such a good big sister helping Lolli:)

Dress up dress up dress down

I am starting early with showing Annie how much fun dress up can be! We changed costumes several times last week while LK was sleeping. What fun it is to be a grandmother!

Then Lily Kate woke up = she is learning real early about the dress up fun too!

On a side note here, do you know how hard it is to get an 8 month old and a toddler to hold still for a picture together? It is next to impossible!

Lily Kate meets the horses

This was Lily Kate's first time to meet our neighborhood horses! There was no smiles, nor tears, at this encounter but some real seriousness! She studied them intensely and would not take her eyes off them! Annie of course thinks they are Lolli's horses and loves our visits to see them.

Colds & Ear infections but Fun anyway at Lolli and Pops

Our youngest grandbaby girls spent the week with us and even though Lily Kate had double ear infections (and we did not know it) and Annie was coming off of a bad cold and sore throat, we managed to have lots of "Lolli and Pop fun". Annie went home with one bad bump on her forehead from running into the corner of the wall while playing hopscotch inside. One thing we did not do was get in the car the whole time they were here. Several days were just too pretty to spend getting these 2 bundles of love all ready to go somewhere and they really were not germ free from their colds so we just enjoyed the cul de sac and yard playing as well as a few strolls up the street. I was taking our American flag down after Veterans Day and changing it to the LOLLIPOP flag and it gave me a great oportunity to teach Annie The Pledge of Allegiance! Wish I could have caught her saying it on my camera but trust me, I'll be trying it again! So here is what I did catch on the camera for the week though:

On The Road Again

We were on the road again today to see our North Georgia grandchildren. It seemed impossible that yesterday on our way back from Mississippi it rained, no... poured... cats and dogs, for 4 hours on us all the way home. We could barely see the road ahead of us. But today made up for that totally while traveling on to North Georgia to see 9 yr. old Corey in his play off football game and 11 yr. old Lauren perform a leading role in the play, Dear Edwina, Junior. The trees were beyond a fitting Autumn description in the Cumming & Alpharetta area! And the kids, well they were just darling in their individual performances. Corey scored a 30 yd+ touchdown and they won their game. Lauren is a natural on the stage and I fully expect to see her on Broadway one day. We had a fantabulous day!

Pep talk from Dad the coach
Here is Corey, the quarterback, with the ball.
Touchdown Corey! Yea! (It was so much fun to yell "that's our grandson" when he scored!)
3 generations of avid football fanatics plus a very proud father and grandfather
Kimberly and Lauren before heading out to the play
Lauren played the role of a perky cheerleader, named Becky!
Not the best photography here but she is singing and dancing and was too cute!

Be watching with us in the near future for Lauren's name in bright lights and ticket lines out of site!
