Bday week

What a celebration this week has been for me. I've been wined and dined and spoiled rotten. I was most surprised to wake up on my birthday to the spoken thought of a certain someone saying he was going to get me fresh krispy kreme chocolate donuts for breakfast. Best birthday cake I could have had on my day!

My next very special surprise came from my almost 90 year old Daddy. We were sitting at the Bonefish Grill (I told you I was spoiled this week)and he handed me this birthday card with this flower picture inside it. Isn't that just the neatest surprise for him to order me lilies for my garden that are named just for me too! They will arrive in October and Daddy is going to help me plant them. I am thrilled! The first 11 flowers will be named after my favorite lollipop lovers too :)

We stopped by to see several peoples on my day and my newest youngest love of my life had on a onsie just for me:)He was not having the best of days (therefore neither was his mom)but he managed to give me the sweetest look ever (see below) :)
our 1st 4th generation picture with Knox!
Love that look I am getting!

Sweet Sydney had a school assignment going on and was very excited to tell me all about what she was writing on "her news article". I think the lollipop helped her concentrate...:) I got 2 very special homemade cards from Sydney and sister Alex (who disappeared while I was taking pictures)
We got to see Handsome Harrison leave for his very first football practise. His daddy was more excited than I've ever seen him before! Most of the D boys have some serious football blood flowing through their veins.

Well, you just have to know this little personality here but she is something else right now! Turn your back on her for one second and hold your breath! (last week she got into an ant bed-even put some of it in her mouth which could have been terribly serious but thank the good Lord she is ok after the tongue has healed and now with multiple bites on her little legs)She loves to make the quiet signal (shhhhh) with her finger to her mouth now. Someone is teaching her a few tricks...
and this is how I found her this week while I was watching the two girls a few hours with my back turned only for a few seconds... she had managed to climb up a step to the sink and fit herself right into it! I got there just before what could have been a water/soap disaster!
we did have a little fun playing dress up and making sugar cookies that day too.
My sweeet pea was most excited about taking me to see "Miss Patty Cake" for a birthday celebration this week. She was mesmerized by the songs and I was mesmerized watching the girls watch her!

Great day...great week...great friends (sorry no pictures of all my wine-ing and dining with friends all week = Chicken salad chik, Amsterdam's, Zazu's, Good Ole Boys...my clothes are fitting kind of tight about now...)and great family fun and surprises I had this week. Love you all and thank you for celebrating with me.

Froglegs

We took B & B to Frog Legs last weekend and there was a little girl in a pink shirt chasing Brendan. She followed him from one bouncey thing to the next. He was smiling and laughing so we just sat back and watched. Finally he came running over to us and I asked him if he had a new girlfriend chasing him. He said "yes, (while smiling) and she is my worst nightmare!" We laughed and laughed at his 6 year old response! I can't wait to ask him that same question in 10 years!

B&B

A budding artist here ( luau trees or backyard trees = they look pretty good for age 6)!

a whopping 36 pounds here at 2½!

We had a B&B weekend here. Beckett and Brendan came to have some Lolli and Pops time with us! Some really fun activities took place for the weekend with these two sweet boys! I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking! (May have to post more tomorrow-the blogger is not cooperating today)

Happy Birthday Amy!

I still have it!
Only my 2 sisters will understand these pictures but it is my best way to say Happy Birthday to Amy, my older sister, who lives thousands of miles away and to whom I love to give a little laugh.

here's what happens

here's what happens when you stomp your foot and tell the city workers that there is no way they are leaving without that dead deer in your neighbor's walkway!
I told ya that our neighborhood is one close knit bunch of folks.. thank you Miss SuMe - you are the deerest friend! I'd stomp my foot for you anyday!

Oh Deer, What can the matter be?

What a shock we had yesterday to wake up to this sight right next door to us? Our deer neighbor and friend is out of town and we are kind of glad because walking out to get your newspaper to this scene could cause hysteria on a Sunday morning. We are deerly hoping it will be gone upon our neighbor's arrival home today. So far several calls to environmental and animal control have not stirred up a quick response but with the SMELL that is causing a little grumbling around here, I suppose we will get some action going here very soon.
The deer appears to have no visable injury or shot marks so all we can conclude is that she got hit from a car up the road and made it as far to this walkway and just dropped dead. One thing for sure, the sight of this and it's SMELL is deerly noted among the neighbors here. Well, I better go for now and call those environmental control people one more time.

quick little update- the environmental "control" people pulled up just around 12:30pm today with a big garbage truck with the big claws on top. Of future note to any of you who might find a dead animal in your driveway or walkway, the city will not pull into the driveway (the rules) and they will not touch the animal even with gloves on but they will offer you their gloves to haul it up to the street upon which they will then pick it up with the claws. After much "friendly" discussion between the two city workers and myself and another neighbor threatening to call the local newspaper and having to call the mayor himself, the dead deer got clawed up off the end of the driveway ...only after the other neighbor pulled it on a tarp up to the end of the driveway...whew...drama in the cul de sac was kind of exciting, smelly, and unsightly. One thing I learned is I have some really good close knit neighbors and the neighborhood watch thing really works!!! Blog fans, be thankful for them and be nice to your neighbors today! You never know when you might need them.

Mission Team Reunion

The heart signs and reminders came back to my mission team's minds today

All our hearts were changed from the theme "hiding God's word in your heart"

a favorite memory of Madge and mine's is when our American 9 yr old Caroline and 9 yr old Costa Rican Hilliary had to feed us pineapple while we were mudding cause our hands were too messy:)
-we all met at the lake for a reunion today-Here's Madge with Caroline and Barbara in background
I just couldn't help myself from making a heart shaped cake for the team:)

p.s when I sit at my sewing machine or the computer lately, I listen to the aptv public television station alot and I have really enjoyed the fabulous fifties music and the 50s Magic Moments as well as the Doowops tunes.
Their cd's of music would make great gifts for an oldie lover like me----nothing like dropping a big fat hint to the kids for future gift giving... oh well, I am what I am and it is what it is...old music brings back pleasant memories to a summer chick like me!
