Last weekend was to be the first of an annual sister trip. It was kind of a last minute plan and regretfully not able to incorporate Amy's schedule this summer. Hopefully next year's trip can include all 5 of us. With 1 sister and 1 sister in law working, 1 sister in law raising 2 boys, and the remaining 2 of us keeping grandkids, traveling and home obligations, it is not easy to find a common time.
We debated on many places to go and had some connections to a deal at The Beau Rivage in Mississippi but it just did not work out soooooo after knashing of teeth in the back seat, seeing floods pour from the heavens on I65 and loud wailing close to a beautiful rainbow, we traveled down an interstate and ended up staying at the Willavage! Where is this new resort you have never heard of? It is relatively speaking very close to home :)...I am so thankful for a brother who willingly opened his beautiful home up and seemed to disappear upon our arrival only after making us a new protein drink since we needed a boost after our long flooded journey on I65.
We did what any girls do over a weekend when they get together = talked , talked, talked, laughed , laughed, laughed, ate, ate, ate, and forgot to sleep, sleep, sleep :) oh yeah, we shopped, shopped, shopped, and saw one lousy movie too.
Anyway, we did have fun, fun , fun especially in the hot tub built for 6 under the stars.
We made a stop at Talbots where my friend, fancy Nancy is working and she had a good time outfitting us.
Fancy Nancy and Barbs
did I comment earlier that you do not need to waste time or money on seeing the movie, "Grown Ups". It was so stupidly terrible that it was sort of funny, if you know what I mean. Kind of funny that 4 grown up women all bought kiddee popcorns for the movie too :) It was the only thing showing that none of us had seen yet:(
Our little shopping excursion to Ulta was fun, don't they say that Girls just got to have fun?
we had some fruity girly drinks and appetizers for supper after that silly movie and we enjoyed laying low and not having to do anything on a schedule. Just chillin together is quite alright for a evening with the gals.
Can't wait til next year's weekend together...we will be sure to include more sleep, sleep, sleep on that one, I think!
