Once Upon A December

Once upon a December there was a daughter who needed her mom to keep the girls for numerous reasons. So the mom and the stepdad go up the road and meet somewhere halfway at their usual Exon just before the predicted bad weather arrives.
They made it home just as the bad weather hit and one little girl just had to go out on the porch anyway.
The other much younger girl prefered to pull up on all the chairs in the house.

On day 2 the cabin crazy grandmother pulled out all her tricks to keep the girls happy.

She had so much fun watching the girls enjoy Christmas around her house.

One girl just loves to eat and is just beginning to taste some table foods.

She loved everything the grandmother offered her.

All mirrors in the house were filled with happy little smiles each day of the visit

The big mirror with it's extra padding just loves the little exercises done on it when the babies visit.

The smart older girl got caught on camera rearranging the grandmother's tree ornaments

But the grandmother did not care cause she put all the ones within their reach to be handled by those little hands however they wanted them

After 2 days inside the grandmother's house during very bad rain the smart girl started jumping for joy when she heard she might get to go outside the next day!

She said "For real, now don't mess with me about my favorite thing to do around here cause you know how I love playing outside at Lolli's house."
So the next day the grandmother gets everyone dressed and ready to go to the toddler story hour at the library.
The sweet young girl was very cooperative and waiting at the back door to go.
The older girl had to be bribed a little but she saw one glimpse of sunshine and perked up!

Playing puzzles and hearing a story about pigs and making one with glue stickers was a fun little morning. The girls even made it over to see friends at church nearby during the Game morning that the grandmother goes to regularly when they are not here.

Later that afternoon after naps, the grandmother found Bah bah and MeMe laying down inside the jacuzzi tub.
The older girl decided she wanted to join her best friends for this little cold weather indoor activity, since it resemmbles making a tent but it has a wonderful view of the birds flying around after rainy days. The tub has great big picture windows and when you lie down you can see lots of birds flying around.

Now, you did not honestly think the grandmother was going to have the girls for 4 days and not have special lollipop treats, did you? I think the new peppermint kind with chocolate in the middle was a hit!

holding out

So, I have been holding out with this photo all week for various reasons but with today's news of Tuberville leaving , I might as well go ahead and post it!
Jack was a very happy camper this past Saturday (also liked sporting his new shirt that Lee & Regan gave him). But this is the 1st time he has been happy during football season in a LONGGGGGGGGG time! I guess it is his turn to brag, huh? Living in Auburn has been a challenge at times for him during football season but not this year.

Lily Kate loves getting her picture taken lately so I'm lovin all these opportunities. I'm hoping this will be a steady pattern especially when Lolli is around!

But when I asked Annie to hop in Pops' lap for a victory picture she started crying. Sweet thing, she is such an avid little Tiger fan that just the thought of taking a picture for an Alabama victory upset her :).

Fun and Games

We are a game lovin family for sure. The kids are even going back to play Sorry which suprises me but it goes without saying that an old classic just can't be beat. Regan won our Quiddler night with several prizes to take home and I won the "Last Word" game (how fitting, you say!).

Regan and Lee had a good time practising their soon to be parenting roles on Lily Kate.

this 2 year old can make a game out of anything and she loves to sit anywhere except on the furniture!

"Hold Chu"

The day after Thanksgiving the kids, the grandbabies and I went to the Mall for a little while. The girls loved seeing the Chik Fil A ELF cow but Annie was all about "hold chu" when she saw him and Santa. She is not ready for any lap sitting on the characters yet but Lily Kate is!

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day for us was like a modern day feast of technological pilgrims! Along with good ole gobble gobble, dressing and gravy there was texting and crackaberries and cell phones ringing and buzzing as well! Not sure how this upcoming generation will deal with all these devices but I pray they will continue to communicate the good old fashioned way as things get even more advanced and complicated in the future. All 24 adults and 12 children at our Thanksgiving gathering in Montgomery enjoyed catching up with each other the old fashioned way and eatting to our hearts content.
Lily Kate's first Thanksgiving! She enjoyed herself!

My lollipop turkeys were fun to make and even more fun to give out to all the kids!
Three little turkeys (twins: Walton and Baylor Williams with Annie)

Natalie Williams (our Bravo Decorating Star)and her brave (meeting all of this family at once) new boyfriend, Jody! Some of you will be interested to know that HGTV is seeking her out for the future!

Brandon and Jennifer Littlepage Dismukes and Kay Littlepage (Tom's mother) entertained Lily Kate and vice versa!

The young mamas feeding their babes! (Jessica, Lily Kate and Lindsey Williams Andrews with Sawyer)

Hudson Andrews and Walton Williams said "no pictures please" but they did not know who they were talking to did they?!

Brandon is going to be a wonderful new daddy in April himself! He got lots of practise on Lily Kate this Thanksgiving!

Peyton Williams loved his turkey lollipop!

Peyton, Nate Taylor, Lucy Taylor and Thomas Andrews chowing down!

Joey Muré, Robbie Taylor, Madison Taylor, Melissa Taylor, Baylor Williams and Tyler Williams saying "cheese" while Annie begins her feast!

Annie says "let's begin"!

Eric and Sawyer Andrews getting caught by the camera queen:)

Lindsey Andrews shows Barbs her homemade pumpkin cheesecake. So proud of a young mom of 3 boys cooking like that!

Melissa, Jessica, and Regan had fun looking at old photos of the cousins when they were little. Everyone had fun seeing how much Lily Kate looks like Lee and Jessica and how much Sawyer looks like Lindsey.

Me and my girls posed for a glamour shot!

Our host and hostess with the mostess, Tim and Penny Williams (thanks yall!)

Pretty kinfolks I have, huh?! Holly Williams and Lindsey Andrews

Aunt B talking "donald duck talk" to Annie inside Tim and Penny's "under construction" house (right next to the clubhouse where we all ate lunch)

Joey and Lee enjoyed a round of horseshoes in the clubhouse yard

Tim remembered our family wishbone tradition and let Barbs and I do the honors in memory of Mama. Barbs won :)... I lost.... :(

This might be the favorite photo of the day. Jessica(the current food police)told Joey that he could only get seconds if he used a dessert plate. That boy loves to eat!

p.s. Somehow I managed to let Jack and Daddy off the hook with the picture taking but they were there!
