Exploring down the road

I highly recommend you take any elementary age kids (and older ones) to LaGrange, Georgia for a tour of a place called Explorations in Antiquity Center. They have a full scale archaeological replica area of "life of a shepherd", "life of a farmer", "life of a village", "a time tunnel of Biblical meals", all these set in Biblical times. Corey(age 10)got to act out as if he was taking the last supper with Jesus and both he and Chad enjoyed exploring each area to see how Jesus and other Biblical people lived a long time ago

The boys thought it was pretty cool to see a tomb interior and gravecloths.
We stayed there an hour exploring but you could make it shorter or longer and can even sign up for "a kid's dig" ahead of time (they did not have one on our day).

I am usually the first one to want to entertain the kids with typical fun places but someone suggested this place on a blog that I respect so I ventured there with the 2 boys by myself (Pops was not able to go this day). I was concerned it might be "too intellectual and too much like a church lesson" but it was really like being an explorer in a foreign country. The boys were both highly entertained by the 3 chickens running around too!
.

On the way home, Corey said to me "Lolli, we got to drive to Jeruselum in 30 minutes today. Not every kid gets to do that!"
